Sorry if we sound like a broken record… But another record has been broken! An Ishihara GX graded CGC Gem Mint 10 recently sold for more than $140,000 in a Landry Pop auction! The result more than doubles the previous mark set by a CGC-certified Ishihara GX, and it’s now the highest price paid for any unsigned Ishihara GX. This was just one of the dozens of CGC-certified cards that were offered in Landry Pop’s Pokémon Icons auction, which ended on August 25, 2026.
The Ishihara GX, Pokémon (2017) Black Star Promos – TPCi01 60th Birthday Party Giveaway graded CGC Gem Mint 10 (lot 161) realized $146,400, doubling the previous record of any CGC-certified example ($69,850 in February 2026). The highest-selling card in the August auction, this Ishihara GX beat highly coveted cards such as No. 1 Trainer promos from Pokémon World Championships and Pikachu Gold Star.
Ishihara GX was given to Tsunekazu Ishihara — the President and CEO of The Pokémon Company — to commemorate his 60th birthday in 2018. Ishihara was so pleased with the gift that he gave away several copies of the promo to colleagues, friends, and staff at his 60th birthday celebration. It is unknown how many examples of Ishihara GX were printed and given away, but it is widely believed that no more than 200 copies were made.
So far, CGC has certified 28 examples of Ishihara GX, according to the CGC Cards Population Report. Six are certified CGC Gem Mint 10, with none graded higher.
